Some of the information is publicly available, for example your name, address and listed phone number is information which is generally not considered “non public personal information”.
Nonpublic personal information that we may collect includes personally identifiable information such as your social security number, deposit and loan balances, overdraft history, payment history and your credit history.
This “nonpublic personal information” is obtained from the following sources:
* Information we receive from you on applications or other loan and account forms;
* Information about your transactions with us or others, and;
* Information we receive from third parties, such as credit reporting agencies.
To Whom We May Disclose Information
We do not disclose the information we collect, except as permitted or required by law. These exceptions are described below:
Exception for Joint Marketing and Service Providers
We may disclose all the information we collect about you, as described above, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.
In many cases, information sharing is necessary for us to perform business functions and services, such as processing ATM or credit card transactions. For example we may enter into agreements with third parties to offer insurance products, brokerage services or to enhance the products or services offered by the bank.
Other Exceptions
We may disclose information we collect about you, as described above, as follows:
* To consumer reporting agencies;
* To resolve disputes or inquires you may have about your accounts;
* To help complete a transaction you initiate, including information requested to verify the existence or condition of an account;
* In connection with a proposed merger, transfer or exchange;
* For fraud, security or risk control;
* With your consent or at your direction;
* Pursuant to court order, subpoena, legal process, government agency examination or investigation, and to protect or enforce your rights;
* To companies that perform services for us in connection with your accounts, such as data processing or collection agencies; and
* As otherwise necessary to service your account, or as permitted or required by law.
Confidentiality and Security
Our employees are trained to treat the information regarding your finances with the highest degree of confidentiality and respect. We will take all necessary steps to ensure that only employees with a legitimate business reason will have access to customer information. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your information.
Our Former Customers
If your customer relationship with us ends, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this notice.
